From the ground up, the Talon is designed for great value, trouble-free assembly, easy maintenance, outstanding durability, and incredible performance.

The Talon by Sport Flight Aviation is designed to give you the freedom that flying is all about. Our super-rugged specially heat-treated chrome-moly steel landing gear is built to take a beating and come back for more. If you want the freedom to land on river bars, beaches, short unimproved fields, or wherever your adventures might take you, the Talon is for you.

Sport Flight’s own Sport Brakes hydraulic disc brakes come standard on every Talon. These super-effective, lightweight brakes are machined from billet aluminum and receive a mil-spec anodized finish for lasting durability and beauty. Short field landings are a breeze with Sport Brakes.

If you prefer the thrill of skimming to a graceful water landing, the Talon takes to it like a duck. Designed to quickly accept floats in place of landing gear, the Talon has specially strengthened attach points built right in. When you want to change back to landing gear to suit the season (or your mood), that’s no problem either. Versatility is what the Talon is all about.

And let’s face it; sometimes the unexpected happens and a gear leg actually needs to be replaced. On the Talon, removal of a single bolt releases the landing gear leg for removal. No major teardown involved. Compare this to some well-known designs where a hard landing all too often means bent structural members and a major rebuild.

Our Talon XP’s used for flight instruction continue to prove the durability of the design, taking a beating from student pilots year after year, and coming right back for more. One workhorse of our fleet is 11 years old with more than 1400 flight hours, and still flies just like the day it was built.
